I still remember clearly the day I stepped out of the so called elite boarding school few years back. Ashamed, I was, for not being able to withstand the pressure of staying in a hostel. I totally felt like a loser. The day I finally enrolled in an ordinary daily school, I told myself, this is it, there's no turning back.
I went on to be an ordinary school's student. Alhamdulillah, for five years. I must say, it was one hell of an experience. With all the friends I had, I must reiterate, it was an amazing experience to be in an ordinary school.
I also went on to score straight A's for both my PMR and SPM, Alhamdulillah. I believe, the one sentence that had always been my driving force to study really hard was, 'Budak sekolah biasa takde masa depan'. Seriously, this was quoted from a teacher, in the so called elite boarding school.
I mean seriously, what kind of bullshit stereotype is this? I mean, tak baca surat khabar is it? Try checking the newspaper one day after the PMR's or SPM's results being released. Most of the time, ordinary school students will occupy the list of top scorers. Hah! So, what I want to say is that, stop looking down towards daily school students.
As if we are that stupid and brainless. Hello! There's nothing to be proud of being in a boarding school. Once you step in the university level, people will not ask, which school did you go to. You will all start as equals.
I also remember the teacher saying, 'Budak sekolah biasa susah nak dapat tempat dekat universiti'. Dafuq another stupid bullshit stereotype. Hello, when I was in PASUM, many 4 flat students were from daily schools okay. Some of them even got the honours of being the top scorers, top 10 students in their courses.
Even I, who was touted not to be successful because I went to daily school by the teacher, Alhamdulillah, was given the chance by Allah to score 4 flat and In Shaa Allah, gonna further my studies in UM doing Chemical Engineering. Gonna work really hard to get my hands on the Dean's list. In Shaa Allah.
My friends have all proven that being in daily school will not stop you from being successful. Some of my friends are pursuing their studies in A levels. Some have completed their matriculation and foundation, and going to further their degree this September. Some have already completed their first year in MBBS and Engineering. So this proves, as long as you work hard, everything's gonna be fine.
Do the best, and let Allah do the rest.
Till then,
Ciao XD
