Chemical Engineering

So, ramai yang dah mula tertanya tanya pasal kursus yang ingin diambil untuk Ijazah Pertama terutamanya pelajar asasi, matrikulasi dan juga STPM.

So tonight I'm going to write about the course that I've been going through for approximately 6-7 months now. Chemical Engineering, it's not all rainbows and sun shines. I repeat, not all rainbows and sun shines.

If you think your deep interest in Chemistry is enough for you to survive Chemical Engineering, I must say, sir, you are wrong. You might want to take something else like Pure Chemistry or something.

So yeah, Chemical Engineering is not all Chemistry. Seriously. It's a combination between Maths, Physics, Chemistry and also Computer Science. Oh and a bit of Biology. So if you think you want to do Chemical Engineering because you love Chemistry, think again.

So in UM, my first semester was tough. Chemistry was rarely spotted. Most of the time, we dealt with Maths and Physics. The only Chemistry we had was in Physical and Chemistry 1 and Physical Chemistry Lab, oh and a bit in CPP 1. But just during the reactive parts.

My advice is to re-think the possibilities of taking Chemical Engineering, not easy to survive and a lot harder to score a good pointer.

However, if you think you have what it takes, welcome to Chemical Engineering.

Sincerely,

A first year Chemical Engineering student, University of Malaya.

Till then,
Ciao XD
