UROVeC '10

Hahhh! I can't believe that the UROVeC is over for good. :D Right, now for the experience the team had at the competition. :)

Yesterday, we went to the Maritime Center for the competition. :) Other schools were there before us. Haha. So, after preparations, the presentation started. Finally, it was our turn. I think we had delivered the presentation well. :D Mira talked about the poster, Hijaz talked about the ROV, I talked about the budget allocation and Ariff talked about the ROV progress. :) We were OK I guess.

So, after lunch (wonderful one :D) the competition started. Obstacle course, it was OK. The second round, we had problems. :( Our ballast tank was filled with water. Haihh! How unlucky. I think we could hit top 3 if not for the ballast. :( For the ball picking round, we got 21 points. That is fair enough. A school got only 4 points. (Muahahaha!) Then, Ariff went back to my place as we prepare for the dinner. :)

OK, the dinner was fine and the competition's winners were announced. Third place, SMK Taman Sea. Second place, Seksyen 9 Shah Alam. First place, SMK TTDI. (Azim) Haha! Well, I think it's fair enough for us. Luck was not on our side. We could always do better next time. :D

Some lessons that we picked up yesterday. :)
- Always have backup for everything -
- Prepare ourselves as other schools were very competitive -
- Design a smaller but functional ROV :) -
- Paint the ROV -

That's all. If the competition is up again next year, we'll make sure that the school will be in the top 3. :)
